Craig and Nicola Langton warmly welcome you to a stay at Shepherd's Rest, a self catering cottage, set on a working sheep farm in Burton Overy, a conservation village, in the beautiful south Leicestershire countryside. This one bedroomed cosy retreat, adjoining the main 17th century farmhouse, is mainly a converted old coach house and retains many of its original period features. It is a great place to stay if you are a walker, conservationist, ornithologist or someone who just loves the countryside.
You can start your day with freshly laid free-range eggs for breakfast and then from your door enjoy a walk over ancient ridge and furrow pastures, taking in the many varieties of farmland birds and visiting our rare hay meadow or newly planted woodland. Then round off the day nicely by eating at the local Inn (within staggering distance) which serves top quality home cooked food.
The cottage is also an excellent haven for travellers or those working in the City of Leicester or Market Harborough, these places being only approximately 20 minutes' drive away.
Prices include central heating, electricity, linen, towels and a basket of logs. A welcome pack is also provided for those essential food supplies - enquire when booking your preferences. There is ample parking in the cobbled courtyard outside the cottage. We regret we cannot accommodate pets or smokers.
